1,045,419,714 – That’s the number of websites online as we start writing this blog post. And about 293 new websites are added every minute.
That makes us wonder the future of web design – and how rapidly this space is adapting to make our web experience edgier and improved. New techniques, new designs, new materials are coming up to make our experience better and enriching.
2016 is indeed a new dawn for the web design industry as we move from flat template based web pages to more professional, enticing, user-friendly and less-cluttered internet pages. This blog post covers TOP 5 trends in web designing and shows the way for future trends.
Responsible RESPONSIVENESS:
To explain this concept, take Bruce Lee’s quote: ” You put water in cup, it becomes the cup; You put water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot.” Very similar is Responsive Websites.
Whether you are accessing thee web page from a mobile, tablet, fablet or desktop; the web page changes its design and features to fit the screen size. Amazing, isn’t it!
Gone are the days when webmasters used to have 5 websites for each device. Now 1 single website caters to all devices – much cheaper, easier to design, manage and ultimately, easy for users to understand and use.
As an example, try loading this blog (Dreamzone) on your mobile or your desktop
Anima-sites
Would you not be bored to see flat webpages? Websites have now become “live” – using animations and responsive web elements. Most sites employ popular animations like hover background animations, motion captures, animated home pages, slideshows, content depth to create the illusion of a “live” website.
Videos, Flash action script, Java script elements breath life into each page as we browse. Recently websites are adding 360 degree photos to make our experiences even better.
Material Design
The new-age website comes with massive uses of grids, grid-form layouts, animation, responsive design, transitions, visual effects like depth using lighting and shadows. This forms the backdrop to Material Design, which Google explains as “a visual language for our users that synthesizes the classic principles of good design with the innovation and possibility of technology and science”. Designer Matías Duarte explained that, “unlike real paper, our digital material can expand and reform intelligently. Material has physical surfaces and edges. Seams and shadows provide meaning about what you can touch.”
The final web page visible to users feels rich and premium providing a seamless surfing experience and making user interactions comfortable and smooth.
Interactions
With so many websites coming up every day, it is of most importance that webmaster employs techniques to keep an user longer on his website. This is achieved by constantly making the user interact with the website on some way. An example of this is Facebook’s new reactions to posts – instead of just “liking” a post, you can show your emotional reaction to a post. Interactions like these are quick and make the user feel more connected to the webpage.
